ThermalBuck is suited to new residential construction and remodeling projects seeking improved thermal performance around windows and doors. The system supports energy-efficient envelope detailing and helps address heat loss at opening perimeters.

Specification Highlights:

ThermalBuck is made from high-density expanded polystyrene (EPS) with a factory-applied waterproof coating. Available in 8-foot lengths, it comes in seven depths from 1 to 4 inches, with published R-values ranging from R-4.4 to R-17.6.

The integrated sill profile includes a drainage slope, and the L-shaped design provides a mounting surface for windows and doors while aligning with continuous exterior insulation or rainscreen assemblies. Fasteners must penetrate the structural framing by at least 1 1/4 inches.

ThermalBuck has a 15-year limited warranty when installed with an approved sealant, including DAP DYNAFLEX 800 or DAP AMP Window, Siding, and Door. BRINC provides dimension drawings, installation guides, videos, and technical documentation, including ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-3753.
